Soon after arriving in Komoro, the place that seemed destined for a distillery, Koji Shimaoka was introduced through an acquaintance to Ian Chang, a world-renowned whisky maker.

Ian’s mission is to carry forward the philosophy of his late mentor, Dr. Jim Swan, and pass it on to the next generation.

Initially intending to join the project as a consultant, Ian, inspired by Koji’s passion, made his decision.
